Stranraer and District Local History Trust was constituted in 1998 at the instigation of the Stranraer and District Chamber of Commerce.

The objectives of this Trust are to research, record and publish information on local history for the benefit of the community.

Since inception the Trust has sold over 29,000 books covering the local history of Stranraer and surrounding district.

A word for aspiring writers

Stranraer and District Local History Trust is always keen to publish quality material concerning local events, personalities, events and such like from the past of the area, but please note: we DO NOT accept unsolicited manuscripts!

If you would like us to consider publishing your work, please write to us FIRST, with a brief (400 words) outline of your subject, a covering letter and return postage.  We cannot return any material sent to us that does not comply with these directions.
